El Gordo Lottery

El gordo is the spanish 'big one' lottery. It has 6 draws thoughout the year and the christmas draw is massive. The jackpot is around €2.20 Billion and brings the whole of Spain to a standstill. When elottery introduced it in december 2008 it was a massive success and meant people accross the globe had a chance of taking part.

The tickets for El Gordo lottery are limited numbers, and it operates slightly different from usual lotteries. The tickets are in raffle ticket forms, and you can buy a strip of 10 tickets for €200, or a 10th of a ticket for €20.
